Melges 32s Reach Critical Mass For 2015 Audi-Tron Sailing Series, Act 3 Riva Del Garda

4 June 2015

Riva del Garda, Italy - With the 2015 World Championship less than three months away, twenty-one Melges 32s have descended upon world-famous Riva del Garda for the third act of the Audi-Tron Sailing Series hosted by Fraglia Della Vela Riva and organized by B.Plan Sport & Events (BPSE) in cooperation with Melges Europe.

The star-studded and silver-lined fleet includes the one-and-only Melges 32 double-World Champion Jason Carroll aboard Argo with Cameron Appleton as tactician. This dynamic duo and their highly diversified team are back in action for the very first time since winning Worlds last December in Miami.

And speaking of dynamic duos, Porto Venere Champions Edoardo Lupi and Massimo Pessina aboard Torpyone with tactician Lorenzo Bressani are back with every effort sharply focused on doing well, but most especially at the forthcoming Trapani Worlds.

Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio aboard G-SPOT and Dalton DeVos’ Delta also return with great vigor.

Other teams to keep a close eye on include Filippo Pacinotti’s Brontolo with Gabrio Zandona as tactician, Alec Cutler’s hedgehog will feature Chris Rast on tactics, Roberto Mazzucato with Gabriele Benussi on Margherita, and as with past events — Vasco Vascotto will be aboard Roberto Tomasini Grinover’s Robertissima. Alessandro Rombelli’s STIG will have Francesco Bruni back aboard for extra competitive measure, and Chris Draper will sail with Japan’s Keisuke Suzuki for the first time on Swing.

Racing in Riva del Garda will take place over the course of three days. A maximum of eight races total are scheduled starting tomorrow, Friday, 5 June. Racing will commence just after midday at 13:30.

As with other Melges 32 events in Europe and around the world, racing updates will be posted online at the Official Audi Melges 32 Facebook Page. Tune in for the latest racing information, results, video interviews, and photos. Race reports, press releases and photos will be available online each day post racing at melges32.com.
