Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series – Happy To Be Back In Malcesine

After the two first events in Loano and Portoferraio, the Audi Melges 20 fleet moves to Malcesine, where in 2010, the first Audi Melges 20 Gold Cup was sailed, a turning point of the Audi Sailing Series, organized by B-Plan in collaboration with Melges Europe.

The event on Lake Garda, is as usual, hosted by Fraglia Vela Malcesine. The venue exudes irresistible charm and remains attractive to teams. In fact, 28 boats are expected to enjoy the event between Ora and Peler.

Among the attending competitors are all the crews that occupy the top five ranking of the Audi Sailing Series: Turnover(Vallivero-Perazzo-Fonda), winner of the stage of Marina di Loano and leader of the ranking, Pecceré (De Falco-Giordano-Vigo), the winner of Portoferraio, the current European Champion Audi supported by Eberhard & Co. - Out of Reach (Miani-Benussi-Sabadin), Candida Sailing Team (Marinelli-Brcin-Mangialardo) and Maolca (Vianini Tolomei-Bodini-Velicogna).

Among the entrants, attention is being given to Mascalzone Latino Jr. with Achille Onorato, Nathan Wilmot and Federico Michetti on board, who aims to repeat the good results obtained in Elba (where he made his debut in the class), Fremito d’Arjaof the well proven trio Levi-Casale-Lagi and 3Menda (Albano-Desiderato-Trani-Masotto).

Malcesine will be the opening event of the season for Enrico Pegoraro, very active on X-35. The owner of Karma will use the experience of Michele Paoletti and Stefano Ciampalini.

Six races in two days are scheduled, with a discard counted when the series will be completed. 

The third leg of Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series, organized by Plan-B Sport & Events in collaboration with the Fraglia Vela Malcesine and Melges Europe will start on Saturday at 12.

In addition to Audi, the Audi Sailing Series are supported by Eberhard & Co. watches, official timekeeper of the season, and the technical supllier Musto.
