27 May 2009

The Audi Melges 20 summer sailing season is off to a very busy start with a successful weekend demo in Germany and an upcoming sample-the-speed day in Seattle, Wash. Simultaneously, the fleet continues with an impressive racing circuit in the USA and Italy.

(27 May 2009) - This past weekend, the Audi Melges 20 enjoyed another successful demo weekend event, special thanks to the Bayerischer Yacht Club (BYC) on beautiful Lake Starnberg in Germany. Two great days of presentations and demo sails were conducted all with positive reaction, great weather and a lot of fun.

Among the crowds was an enthusiastic group of 420 lady sailors from the German Sailing Team, in addition to sailors from BYC, Muncher Yacht Club, Possenhoefener Yacht Club, Muncher Ruder-und Segel-verein and Deutscher Touring Yacht Club. View Photos.

The International Audi Melges 20 Class in coordination with Melges Europe would like to extend a very special thanks to the Bayerischer Yacht Club as their hospitality was amazing, and especially to Ralph Wood, BYC Harbor Master and Board Member. Ralph's efforts made this one of the most enjoyable weekends ever. BYC is sponsored by Audi and Melges Europe with hopes of an event for the 2010 Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series circuit.
