2008 OSA Sailing Melges 24 U.S. National Championship Gears Up with 51 Pre-registered Teams, Spectator Boats and On-site Rigging Support; Registration Extended

Registration has been extended until Friday, September 12th for the 2008 OSA Sailing Melges 24 U.S. National Championship in Charleston, S.C., September 18-21. The USMCA and the Charleston Yacht Club announced the extension to meet the strong demand from top racers and class new comers. With 51 entries confirmed, there's a good chance the regatta will break the 2007 Nationals attendance record.
Among the teams currently registered is defending U.S. National Champion Brian Porter on USA-749 Full Throttle. Porter will face stiff competition from the very strong List Of Entrants. Help the class achieve another record-breaking attendance level! Register Online today!
Charleston Yacht Club is rolling out the red carpet. The club announced that Palmetto Breeze is offering spectators the chance to watch the championship up close. Bring your family and friends to experience Charleston, one of the highest-rated vacation destinations, and cheer on your crew. Here are all the details:
Designed and built locally, Charleston's spacious 1,700 sq ft 100 passenger catamaran Palmetto Breeze provides both comfort and speed with dual diesels, 2 bathrooms, covered cushioned seating, stereo and bar. Set sail from Charleston Harbor Marina at Patriot's Point to sail along with the world's best competitors! Bottled water and soft drinks $1 each, domestic beer $2, imported beer $3, glasses of wine $3. No coolers please, but please feel free to bring your picnic basket.
